As one of the largest engineering departments, ECE has an enrollment of approximately 750 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. It is consistently ranked as one of the nation's best by U.S. News & World Report.
Electrical engineers are responsible for a wide range of technologies, from portable music players to the global positioning system. They design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of electronic equipment such as broadcast and communications systems. Many work in areas closely related to computers. Computer hardware engineers research, design, develop, test and oversee the manufacture and installation of computer hardware.
