Sales Engineering Minor

Sales Engineering serves to bridge the communication gap between the manufacturers of today's technology and the consumers who purchase their products. Sales Engineers serve as intermediaries between manufacturers and engineers and non-technical professionals in the marketplace, supplying product information and pinpointing customer needs. To achieve this, Sales Engineers must have precise knowledge of a product's design and performance characteristics, a thorough grasp of its function, an understanding of the competitors' products and, of equal importance, the ability to communicate this information to the customer. Working side-by-side with prospective buyers, Sales Engineers play a key role in the selection, purchase, installation and maintenance of technical products.

An alternative to the traditional engineering career path, Sales Engineering is challenging, stimulating and rewarding. While Sales Engineering requires a demanding course of study, those successful in this field enjoy rapid promotion, perquisites and enhanced income, making the added effort worthwhile.

If you're interested in pursuing a career in Sales Engineering, consider minoring in it. Our Sales Engineering minor is open to engineering majors only, and it typically takes 16-19 credits to complete.
