AAAS honors 19 UF, 5 college faculty as lifetime fellows

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the Science family of journals, has elected 19 faculty from the University of Florida, including 5 from Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, to its newest class, breaking previous records for the number of faculty awarded in a single year.

UF Receives Award for Diversity and Inclusion Work

Insight Into Diversity magazine has named the University of Florida as a recipient of the 2022 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award. The award measures the efforts made by universities to expand upon diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The award also assesses the initiatives, student recruitment and hiring practices at an institution.

Engineering Faculty Score High Among Record Number of UF Faculty to Earn NSF Career Awards

UF Engineering Undergrads Advocate for Alzheimer’s Research in National Competition

University of Florida Engineering undergraduates Marion Hagstrom and Parker Kotlarz were selected to present their research on AI in early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease at the Annual “Posters on the Hill” competition, hosted by the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). The two-day Posters on the Hill event is an advocacy outreach to promote federal legislative support of groundbreaking undergraduate research.

UF Eckhoff Steel Bridge Named Back-to-Back Champions

June 14, 2022

The University of Florida’s Eckhoff Steel Bridge team placed first in the American Institute of Steel Construction’s (AISC) Student Steel Bridge National Competition for the second year in a row. The competition was hosted by Virginia Tech on May 27 and 28, 2022, with more than 140 participating schools internationally.
